We believe in a complete/whole person. This is achieved by integrating services with the medical & therapeutic modalities. Working collaboratively with health care professionals is essential for effective treatment. Far too few people see the importance of collaborating with the community for behavioral health treatment. Too many barriers are presented: for example a person with diabetes who is not in compliance with medical or Physician’s treatment. Perhaps that person is depressed; therefore, will never be in compliance. The goal at Behavioral Health Integrative Services is to treat a person’s mental health wellbeing first, in order to achieve a sound physical wellbeing.
There are many different models of therapy to choose from. We work using a range of approaches, as perhaps one model of counseling may not be helpful to everyone. We prefer to remain flexible to your requirements.
We aim to be sensitive to the cultural and ethnic origins of individuals, and to people's religious beliefs and sexual orientation.
Alongside private practice, We work the Southern half of the State of New York as professional counselors and receive referrals from within the health, public, and private sectors. The maintenance of high standards of professional competence is a responsibility shared by all mental health counselors at Behavioral Health Integrative Services in the best interests of the public and the profession. Our mental health counselors recognize the boundaries of their particular competencies and the limitations of their expertise. The mental health counselors at Behavioral Health Integrative Services only provide those services and use only those techniques for which they are qualified by education, techniques or experience. Our mental health counselors maintain knowledge of relevant scientific and professional information related to the services they render, and they recognize the need for on-going education.
